The BTS in Tourism is a vocational diploma that enables you to enter the job market directly. However, it may be a good idea to continue your studies so that you can move into positions of greater responsibility or specialise in a specific field.
The Bachelor's degree is a bac+3 course that enables you to deepen your knowledge of the tourism sector. After your BTS, you can go straight into the 3rd year of a Bachelor's degree. This course focuses on professionalisation, with work-study or placement periods.
Tourism Bachelor's degrees offer a range of specialisations, including tourism business management, tourism marketing, ecotourism and business and event tourism. These courses are generally offered by business schools or schools specialising in tourism.

A professional degree in tourism is another excellent option after a BTS. This one-year course gives you the chance to specialise while building up your professional experience through work placements or sandwich courses.

If you'd like to go on to study for a 5-year degree, you can do so by taking a Masters after a 3-year degree. Business schools, tourism schools and universities offer specialised Masters courses in areas such as tourism management, e-tourism and sustainable tourism.
These high-level courses prepare you for management positions in the tourism sector, with higher salaries at stake.
The BTS in Tourism is first and foremost a vocational training course that will enable you to enter the world of work directly.
There are four main sectors open to holders of a BTS in Tourism: tourism companies (travel agencies, tour operators, theme parks); local tourism bodies (tourist offices, departmental committees); transport companies (airlines, railways, shipping companies); the accommodation sector (hotels, campsites, holiday villages).
A wide range of jobs are accessible with this diploma: travel consultant; stopover agent; tourist reception officer; tourism coordinator; tour guide; booking agent; tourist promotion officer. With experience, you can progress to management positions such as team manager, product manager or reception manager.
The tourism sector is international by nature. Working abroad after your BTS can be a real asset to your career, provided you master the language of the host country.
Foreign language skills are highly sought after in this sector. An international experience will enable you to improve your language skills while discovering other cultures and working methods, thus considerably enriching your professional profile.
