Pursuing its studies after a BTS in International Trade (IT)

After months of thinking about which BTS to choose, you opted for a BTS IT. The BTS International Trade enables students to acquire all the skills needed to work in a commercial company in two years of study. What to do after a 2-year degree? What to do after a BTS? Many students ask themselves these questions. There are several possibilities after a BTS IT: to choose a profession and start working, or to continue your studies. In the latter case, you can apply for a variety of degrees designed to strengthen your skills and teach you new topics. Pursuing your studies after obtaining a BTS in International Trade may be a good idea if you wish to have higher positions in a company when you start working or if you wish to start working in an entrepreneurial environment.

Pursuing its studies for a 3-year degree

The BTS IT is part of the LMD system (licence (equivalent of a bachelor), master, doctorate). It is therefore entirely possible to register for a professional licence after obtaining the BTS in International Trade. This choice will allow you to complete your 2-year degree with a licence(equivalent to a bachelor) and to obtain a 3-year degree. There are more than 2,000 different professional licences, including several training courses in sales. These include marketing, e-commerce, retailing, export, communication, negotiation, digital marketing, purchasing, etc. The licences, taught at university, last one year and allow students to obtain a more advantageous remuneration when they enter the professional world. They also allow students to obtain specialisations in certain very specific fields. After obtaining a bachelor's degree, you can continue your studies by taking a master's degree in business in order to specialise further and obtain a higher education diploma.

Joining a business school

Another solution if you are wondering what to do after a BTS in International Trade: join a business school. Business schools are higher education institutions that are accessible after obtaining a 2-year degree. Admissions vary from one institution to another, but are always based on a test or exam. These tests act as a bridge between the BTS and business schools, so that you can enter a diploma such as a Bachelor's degree in International Trade. It is important to be well prepared for this type of test, which consists of tests of general culture, logic, modern languages and, of course, business knowledge.

After your International Trade bachelor's degree, or directly after your BTS via parallel admissions, you can join the programme of the Grandes Ecoles. This takes 3 or 4 years and has many advantages. The first of these is the diversity and quality of the teaching: in business school, students are taught a wide range of subjects: finance, management, international trade, marketing... The curriculum alternates teaching in school with internships in companies.

Some of the training courses offered by an international business school are carried out abroad. This type of teaching also allows students to create a professional network in France and abroad and access a position of responsibility more easily, from the beginning of their career.
