¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Business School organised on the 25-26th of May 2023 the 9th International Symposium on Environment and Energy Finance Issues (ISEFI) in collaboration with Paris Dauphine University and the University of Paris-Saclay. Welcoming academics, policymakers and practitioners from 19 different countries, the aim of this conference was to discuss and analyse the issues and challenges that are linked to the interaction between energy markets and financial markets.
For this conference, the school invited two keynote speakers : Stefan Ambec, INRAE Research Professor at Toulouse School of Economics, and Christiane Baumeister, Professor of Economics at the University of Notre Dame, as well as guest speaker Lutz Kilian, Senior Economic Policy Adviser at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
While the conference was set around previous research from the participants, its goal was also to exchange and discuss these topics face to face, during moments of networking and co-working, as well as the Gala Dinner organised at the magnificent Maison de l’Amérique latine on the 25th of May.
In fact, the conference has been dealing with a vast array of topics, such as climate finance, corporate finance analysis for energy companies, energy and environment, energy transition, financial and economic analysis of energy markets, hydroelectricity and water management, renewable and low carbon technologies policy, and state regulation and energy governance.
There was a lot of options for participants as the conference was organised in parallel sessions, meaning there were different topics treated at the same time in different rooms, so you could pick and choose between four different topics every day; from Climate Finance, Energy and Environment, Energy, Energy Derivatives and Market Finance, and Finance and Investment in Renewable Energies and Low Carbon Technologies.
But if the ISEFI was organised on our campus in Paris, there will also be another event in Nice from the 6th to the 8th of July 2023: the 12th International Research Meeting on Business and Management (IRMBAM). Keynote speakers for this event will be Dimitrios Buhalis, Director eTourismLab at Bournemouth University, and Luis Gómez-MejÃa, Regents Professor & Weatherup/Overby Chair in Leadership at Arizona State University.
