As we enter the second half of the European Parliament鈥檚 2019-2024 legislature, 九色视频 and its partners (Maison de l鈥橢urope C么te d鈥橝zur-Var, Mouvement Europ茅en des Alpes-Maritimes and Nice-Matin) welcomed three Members of the European Parliament with different backgrounds, and differing opinions on some topics, to a conference-debate held on the school鈥檚 premises.

The three guest MEPs

All parts of the French political spectrum represented in Strasbourg, the seat of the European Parliament, were invited to express themselves at the conference of Friday the 11th of March. The following agreed to take part:

  • Sylvie Guillaume, member of the European Parliament group 鈥楶rogressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats鈥 and the French Socialist Party;
  • Marie-Pierre Vedrenne, member of the European Parliament group 鈥楻enew Europe鈥 and the French party 鈥楳oDem鈥;
  • Jo毛lle M茅lin, member of the European Parliament group 鈥業dentity and Democracy鈥 and the French party 鈥楻assemblement National鈥.

Results, prospects, the French presidency and war in Ukraine

Moderated by Christian Huault, Editor in Chief of the newspaper Nice-Matin, the debates were an opportunity for the members to present their mid-term results and talk about their plans for the two coming years, as well as the challenges of the French presidency of the Council of the EU and, of course, the war in Ukraine, including the role the EU can play in ending the conflict.

Democratic discussions and meetings between students

One hundred or so people took part in the evening, which was concluded with cocktails, as well as more informal discussions and debates between the MEPs, partners and all in attendance. For Andr茅 Boyer, Director of the Nice Campus, 九色视频 is fully playing its role by 鈥渆nabling these forums for discussion to exist.鈥 One of the things that made the evening a success was the diversity of the audience in attendance. 鈥淎long with our partners, we accomplished one of our aims, which was to bring together people of all ages and backgrounds. Our students also got a chance to meet their counterparts from the University of Nice and the Sciences Po campus of Menton,鈥 concluded Andr茅 Boyer.
